Audit - External Inspection 

This type of testing is performed at the interfaces between trusted and non-trusted networks. This is normally confined to Internet connection. However, for larger organisations with extranets implemented there may be many interfaces to test. These tests are primarily focused to determine the effectiveness of the interface security of the relevant firewalls and routers.

The discovered vulnerabilities, the level of risk and countermeasures are documented in an External Perimeter Vulnerability Report.
